"My son made tangible breakthroughs in terms of his emotional regulation and social skills as a result of attending the program. This is such a special program that offers both an outdoor setting as well as interaction with a small group of peers. The team is really welcoming, knowledgeable and inclusive and I felt confident leaving my son in their hands. I cannot recommend this program enough."

"Our kiddo has struggled with participating in structured group programming but this program has been an amazing fit. He is so excited to attend every week, the team is so flexible and great with him, and we love that it takes place in nature. We love everything about this program!"

"Forest Kids OT was incredibly beneficial for my daughter. They worked closely with us to create achievable goals and gave her the support and resources she needed during their sessions."

"Forest OT has been such an incredible addition to our son’s weekly routine. We’ve noticed big shifts in emotional regulation and his ability to use tools to share his inner feelings with us, for example the activation meter. Not only has the program been an incredible support for him, we feel so much more supported as parents of a neurodivergent child. In the weekly emails we’ve learned some really practical skills that can be easily incorporated into our parenting toolbox. Our son has already been introduced to these skills during his session so his familiarity really helps our family integrate them. Our experience with Forest OT has been so valuable. The staff and volunteers are so knowledgeable, approachable, and kind too. We can’t recommend them enough! "

"We’ve had a wonderful experience with Forest Kids OT. The leaders are highly skilled and deeply attuned to the children in their care. The activities are thoughtfully designed to meet a wide range of needs, allowing each child to engage in their own way and at their own pace. What stands out most is the kindness shown to the children; it’s received warmly and deeply appreciated. In addition to the time our daughter spends in the program, our whole family has benefited from the shared language and strategies that have come home with her. We’ve grown our vocabulary for talking with one another when situations get tough, which has made a meaningful difference. We’re very grateful for the care and intention behind this work."

"Our son has been undergoing a transformation in his ability to self-regulate and engage peacefully with other kids, and we are confident as his parents, that his time spent with Sarah and Kim in the forest has given him so many of these new tools to thrive in social spaces and at home! I really didn’t think he would be so engaged (especially in the rain and snow), but he’s always beaming after session and filled with delight at the adventures he’s had and the wonder he’s beheld in the forest.
You won’t find kinder, more understanding and encouraging folks (Pediatric Occupational Therapists to be specific) than Sarah and Kim. They make our kiddo feel safe and welcome to be himself, while sharing ideas and tools for growth that are judgment free and easily accessible for a kid. We are currently participating in our second round of Forest OT programming and we are working on how we will continue to include Forest OT for his Kindergarten year, as it’s already proved invaluable for our son’s mental wellness and peaceful development.
Our son’s daycare staff comment regularly in the past several months about how much more calm, collaborative, and helpful he is on a daily basis and that ‘he now asks to go outside to move his body when he is frustrated or angry with a friend or situation’- makes me tear up every time I hear it!"
